How do I submit logo and text?

Bring your logo with you in a flash drive, disk, or other remedial media. You can also e-mail the digital logo to: customerservice@karlsplaques.com.  We also have a flatbed scanner available for scanning any logos you might have, which might result in a lower quality image. We can often complete a proof while you wait in our store.

When should I expect my order to be ready?

Once we receive the approved proof, we engrave your plaque, gift, trophy, desk bar, pen set, etc and paint fill all engravings.  This process can take anywhere from 5 minutes to  approximately one day to complete.   Custom and specialty plaques can take up to an additional day to complete.  Custom 3-dimensional plaques will take up to a week to complete; this is due to the time it takes to design and carve your plaque.  Custom plaques and gifts with only laser cut laminate and/or metal plate and laser engraved Alder plaques will typically be ready to go in about 5 - 30 minutes..  We will let you know approximately how long once your order is finalized.

Do you offer rush service?

The urgency of your order is important to us, but we customize all of our plaques and take the time and effort ensure accuracy and beauty.  My name is on it, I will not deviate from that, but will get your order out as soon as possible, but many will be available within minutes or hours at not additional cost.

Can I return an engraved item?

Once an item is engraved we will not return or exchange that item.  If we made a mistake in the engraving, we will replace it immediately.  If the mistake involves a plate or item affixed to the item we will send a new plate without the need to return the item. Please check your spelling closely.

What is the price of personalization?

All items are intended for personalization; therefore, all personalization is included in the price.

Can I add a logo?

Not only can you add your logo, but we encourage you to do so. Adding your logo adds an element of class and helps reassure your customers by letting them know you will put your name next to your product.

What format should I submit my logo?

Laser engraving yields the best quality with a 300 dpi JPEG.   We engrave the plaque then fill the engraved area with the color of your choosing.  This is all included in the price.  

Virtually any format of bitmap will work, but we recommend it to be at least 2x the size that will be engraved.  This will ensure smooth edges and eliminate visual pixilation.  If it is crisp and clear when printed then it will yield positive results with laser engraver or sublimation.  You can also submit your own artwork in CorelDraw X4 or lower as well as AI 5 or lower.  The better quality the image, the faster we can produce your plaque and get it to you.

Do you charge a set-up fee?

We do not charge a set up fee.  All prices that we display include set-up and engraving.  Remember, the lower quality of your image the more time it will take to set up and complete you plaque.
